Michelin-starred Chef Stefano Masanti partners with V. Sattui Winery to present a sumptuous midsummer menu at Fresh Starts Chef Events.
Chef Stefano is chef-owner at Il Cantinone in his hometown of Madesimo in the Italian Alps, where his young memories include cooking with his grandfather in the family hotel. His menu:
Chicken & Mushroom Ravioli | Beef Cheek with Mustard, Potato & Truffle Purèe | Grandfather's Vanilla Gelato with V. Sattui Madeira Zabaglione & Raspberries
An early voice for the Slow Food movement in Italy, Chef Stefano is an advisor with CHIC (Charming Italian Chef), a national association of Italian chefs that promotes creative cuisine while respecting the deep food traditions of Italy. His restaurant has been named among the top 60 in Italy by L'Espresso Guide, published by one of the country's top magazines.
After befriending Tom Davies, President of V. Sattui Winery, several years ago, Chef Stefano visited the Napa Valley. Now he closes the restaurant from April through November to spend the off-season as events chef at V. Sattui Winery, which will offer pairing recommendations for the event menu.
