Event Page: https://rotary5150.org/page/dayofservice/ To Register in Marin County, please go to https://tinyurl.com/R5150DOSMarin BACKGROUND: The first Earth Day was over 50 years ago. Since then, Rotary clubs around our world have worked hard to build awareness, inspire action, and plan service projects to protect our environment. AND WE ARE CONTINUING TO TAKE ACTION... from beach cleanups, tree plantings, and plastic collection to complex projects like solar in the city and developing clean energy for our communities. ROTARY, HOWEVER, IS NOT FINISHED! Rotary International President Shekhar Mehta has challenged Rotary clubs and communities around the world to host a Rotary Day of Service event while celebrating the 51st Earth Day. To answer the challenge, Rotary District 5150 will host "Rotary Day of Service: Protecting the Environment" on April 9. In each of the three counties we serve, we will host different activities to raise awareness of environmental challenges and provide solutions to meet those challenges.
