Open Studios at the Novato Arts Center - Marin MOCA

Novato, CA (February 2017) The Marin Museum of Contemporary Art invites the public to the Novato Arts Center Open Studios on March 4th and 5th 2017,  from 11am-5pm. This is a free, two-day event sponsored by the Marin Museum of Contemporary Art in Novato. Meet the artists AND purchase unique and creative artwork in a variety of media. The Novato Arts Center is home to over 50 artists working in many genres and mediums: Painting, drawing, mixed media, portraiture, sculpture, photography, textiles, artists books and more! This is a unique opportunity to meet the artists and  learn about their process and inspirations. There will be a variety of on-going 30 minute art demonstrations throughout both days and visitors can drop in and participate in hands-on art making alongside the artists. Don’t miss this exciting event!

The Novato Arts Center campus is located at the historic Hamilton airfield and was renovated to retain its original 1930s Spanish style architecture. Visitors can tour the four buildings, housing over 50 individual artist studios, the MarinMOCA museum gallery, art classrooms and museum store. On display in the galleries will be the exhibition “This Is For You”, paintings and mixed media work by Raymond Saunders. Enjoy a meal with friends at the Beso Bistro and Wine Bar restaurant next door.

The Museum entrance is located at 500 Palm Drive. The studios are located at 500 & 501 Palm Drive, 781 & 789 Hamilton Parkway. This is a free event and open to visitors of all ages.
