At the annual Mother's Matter Gilead House Fundraiser the hope in the air was palpable. Gilead House, a shelter, and program for homeless moms and their kids have been in Novato for nearly 20 years, and tonight Gilead House decided to honor some groups that had been with them through thick and thin. Two of the honored groups are members of the Novato Chamber.

Soroptimist International of Novato was awarded the Gilead House Hope builder award for, amongst many things, providing some of the early donations, kitchen appliances and regular support to the foundation. Soroptimist has a long history in Novato and for the last 19 years has strongly supported Gilead House, the moms, and their children.

The second Novato Chamber member that was honored as the Presbyterian Church of Novato. On top of its already long list of community involvement, the Gilead House has always been a charity that has received the attention of the small church congregation on Wilson. The church has stepped up with maintenance volunteers, support staff and much more over GH's 19-year history.

Thank you to all those special Hope Builders!
