TAM Executive Director Attends Chamber GAC Meeting

The Executive Director of the Transportation Authority of Marin (TAM), is scheduled to attend the Novato Chamber's Government Affairs Committee (GAC) on July 3. Dianne Steinhauser (TAM) will be discussing multiple topics including the progress of various projects in Novato and throughout Marin, funding shortfalls, the passage of RM III from the June 2018 ballot and its implications as well as potential partnerships and other projects that could be coming to alleviate congestion dilemmas and infrastructure shortcomings.

It turns out that transportation building projects are primarily funded by local revenue sources. What most people probably do not understand is that "local projects" runs a very wide gauntlet: whether we are talking about an intersection in Novato or US 101 or SMART, these are all ALSO primarily funded by local revenue sources such as the former 'Measure A' which just so happens to be seeking to extend the successful tax for an additional 20 years.

The Novato Chamber has always kept a pulse on the state of local and regional infrastructure. Novato sits on two of California's many notorious congested roads; both US-101 and CA-37 have become more vital for the local economy.
